The V8S closes the gap between the V8F and the V10F. The V8S comes with 210Wh more battery capacity compared to the V8F, for a total of 728Wh. Almost everything remains the same as on the V8F, besides the weight.
Yet, we are not talking about a huge difference there.
The V8S weighs just around 1kg more. The shell hasn't changed as you might think. InMotion managed to fit 210Wh more without changing the external look of the wheel.
The motor also hasn't changed - it's still the 1000W motor as seen on the V8F.
New Battery Cells
Although the 18650 battery formats are more mature in terms of application and technology insight, manufacturers had to find a way to pack more energy into our wheels without losing too much space and money.
The closest and thermal-safe format is the 21700 (21mm x 70mm, 0-cylindrical battery).
The V8S comes with 20s2p battery packs, full of LG M50T 21700 cells with a capacity of 5Ah. As a comparison, the V8F comes with 18650 LG MJ1, 3.5Ah cells.
The Pedals
We get the V8S with large, comfortable pedals covered with grip tape to help us control the wheel better. We can see the same pedals on the V10F.
The Features
The features we've come to love about the V8S are the retractable trolley handle and the ability to customize the wheel's ride characteristics through the app. The lift button and the cushier side paddings are also worth mentioning.
